We’ll walk you through what to expect and what to bring, so your first visit feels clear and stress-free.
- Your Initial VisitYour first appointment begins with a consultation to understand your condition and review your diagnosis and treatment options. In some cases, treatment may be completed the same day, but more complex situations may require a second visit.
- What to Bring with YouPlease bring your referral slip and any recent X-rays, along with a list of current medications and your dental insurance information. Completing your forms ahead of time can help make your visit smoother.
- Medical Information to Share
Let us know about any medical conditions (e.g., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or medications (e.g., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.) that may affect your care. This helps ensure your treatment is planned safely and appropriately.
- X-Rays and ImagingIf you’ve had a CBCT scan within the last month, please bring it with you on a CD or flash drive. And if your dentist has taken X-rays within the last month, ask them to send them to our office. If needed, we will take additional images here.
Please note that our office does not provide care for patients under the age of 13. We appreciate your understanding and encourage families with younger children to seek care from a pediatric provider better suited to meet their needs.
Stress-Free Care for a Comfortable Dental Visit
Your comfort is a priority throughout your visit. We use local anesthesia along with a topical numbing gel to ensure your treatment is as comfortable and pain-free as possible.
If you feel anxious or prefer additional support, anxiolysis (e.g., Halcion) may be recommended. This option is thoroughly reviewed during a consultation to make sure it is safe and appropriate for your needs.
If anxiolysis is part of your care, a trusted adult will need to drive you to and from your appointment and remain available during your visit.

- Do I need a referral to see an endodontist? No, you can contact us directly. However, many patients are referred by their general dentist when specialized care is needed.
- What happens during a root canal treatment? During a root canal, the inside of your tooth is carefully cleaned to remove infection or inflammation. The space is then disinfected and sealed to protect it from future problems. The goal is to relieve pain and preserve your natural tooth so it can continue to function normally.
- How do I know if I need root canal treatment? Common signs include lingering sensitivity to hot or cold, pain when chewing, swelling, or a tooth that feels different than the others. In some cases, there may be no obvious symptoms. A proper evaluation helps determine if treatment is needed.
